Danam Dismisses Reports Of Quitting Congress
Stating that he had joined the TDP during the 2004 elections, the former minister said he had rejoined the Congress as he was unable to adjust to the TDP.
Former minister and Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagendar on Friday dismissed reports of him leaving the Congress to join the Telugu Desam Party.
Speaking to media persons, Danam described the reports as baseless and far from truth.
He said that he had no plans of joining the TDP. Stating that he had joined the TDP during the 2004 elections, he said that he had rejoined the Congress as he was unable to adjust to the TDP.
He said that he was never hungry for power as he considered both victory and defeat as inevitable in politics. Therefore, his defeat in the recent elections from the Khairatabad constituency would not prompt him to leave the Congress, he clarified.
Danam said that he hoped the Congress would perform impressively in the upcoming GHMC elections.
He refused to comment when asked if the Congress would ally with the MIM. However, he said that the TRS would not be a major power in GHMC elections.
He also predicted that the TRS would lose its strength across Telangana if Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao failed to implement the promises that he made to the people. (INN)
