Following directions from the High Command over the serious remarks made by Congress Working Committee member G Venkataswamy against AICC President Sonia Gandhi, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President D Srinivas on Wednesday sent a detailed report to New Delhi.
It is believed that the report recommended strong disciplinary action against the senior party leader.
According to reports, the PCC chief sent media clippings which were being continuously circulated on various television news channels and Venkataswamy's comments which made the headlines in almost all major newspapers, to the high command.
G Venkataswamy had lashed out at party President Sonia Gandhi and demanded that she resigned from her post immediately as the popularity of the Congress was waning under her leadership. He also demanded that the AICC President post should be given to a person of Indian origin.
According to reports, the CWC leader attacked Sonia as she was considering reconstituting CWC soon, and was overlooking him due to his old age.
