Cyclone Nilam Update: 25 Dead So Far, Still Counting
With further rain expected over the next few days, the worst may not be over. The final death toll cannot be confirmed until the flooding abates.

25 dead, 80000 evacuated as heavy rains lash Andhra Pradesh after Cyclone Nilam
Pushing the death toll up to 25, constant flooding in the aftermath of Cyclone Nilam continues to devastate life in coastal Andhra.
According to the latest reports, around 150 villages in Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Krishna, east and west Godavari, and Srikakulam have been submerged, including around 2.5 lakh hectares of cultivated farmland. Approximately 80,000 people have been evacuated, and schools continue to remain shut.
Around 70 people were rescued from Hemadri Gadda in Visakhapatnam by Navy helicopters. Several villagers spent Sunday stranded on their rooftops until they were rescued.
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP's Chandrababu Naidu, and YSRCP's YS Vijayamma will all be touring the flood afflicted regions to guage the extent of the damage.

With 14 trains cancelled, a few more diverted, and several bus services suspended, transportation has also been severely upset by the storm.
