The Special Operations Team of the Cyberabad Police today nabbed a group of fraudsters who had been running an interstate fake job racket.
Reports say that the gang had duped over 100 unemployed youths desperate for jobs of Rs 1.5 crore by promising them posts in several government organisations, including the Indian Railways and the Food Corporation of India.
Speaking on the case, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police V C Sajjanar said, "The specialty of this gang was their ability to secure fake documents, which they did with help from their contacts at the Railway Headquarters in Delhi. They even managed to organise fake training programs in Delhi and West Bengal, sometimes for as long as three months. Two people, identified as Sarvesh Sahu aka Ashok Kumar Singh from Uttar Pradesh and Abdul Majid aka Srinivas from Andhra Pradesh, have been arrested for their involvement in the scam. We have seized Rs 6 lakh in cash, fake appointment letters, fake ID cards, and four mobile phones from the possession of the accused. Two others, known as Misra and Dinesh, who would run the fake training centres, are still absconding. A couple of cases have already been registered against the fraudsters at the Cyberabad police station, and one case at the Rachakonda police station. They will be sent to judicial remand and will then be interrogated for more details on all their dealings."
The rise in such cases has become a pressing concern for law enforcement agencies. Even Tollywood director Venky Kudumula fell prey to a similar crime, some days ago. He was
duped by a swindler who cheated him off Rs 66,000.
