Telangana Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao today said that as many as 97 lakh people in the state had received the Covid-19 vaccine so far.
Telangana Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao today revealed that as many as 97 lakh people in the state had received the Covid-19 vaccine so far.
He said that out of the total number of vaccinated people, 83 lakh had received only the first dose yet.
"2.2 crore unvaccinated people in the state still need to be immunised against Covid-19. The state administration is currently carrying out the vaccination drive through 100 vaccination centres. The program is being carried out through 24 mobile vans as well. Vaccines are being administered to those who are above the age of 30 right now. We will reach the '1 crore vaccinated' mark within the next two to three days," Rao added.
He then stated that Telangana would get 21 lakh doses of the vaccine in the month of July.
Referring to the decision of the state government to reopen all the educational institutions in Telangana from July 1, the senior health official urged all the teachers to take the vaccine after producing their ID cards at the inoculation centres at the earliest.
He also spoke about the delta plus variant of the coronavirus and said that the variant had not yet been spotted in the state.
