Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today informed the Legislative Council that corruption-free land registration would now be done in Telangana in just 10 minutes.
Introducing the new revenue bill in the upper house, KCR asserted that the new revenue act would ensure hassle-free registration of lands, and that there would be no scope for corruption.
Details pertaining to all sorts of lands registration, mutations and updations would be done fast, and copies could be availed of in just 10 minutes, he said.
He also claimed that the Dharani portal was fool-proof as neither registrars nor tahsildars could tamper with it. The portal would open only upon the user giving correct biometric, iris, Aadhaar and other details, he said.
The registration of lands was in general planned to eliminate any scope for illegal entries and tampering, he claimed.
"We have planned the new revenue act for three years to eliminate any chance of corruption. Land owners can now be free from fear or doubt. The new revenue act aims at offering the best services to people, and officials have been instructed to follow that ideology," he said.
"There are no lands in Telangana now pertaining to landlords, jagirdars and zamindars. All lands details have been made available in the Dharani official portal, and the people can view them. The government has cancelled revenue courts, and all controversies can be handled in the regular courts," he added.
After the debate, the upper house approved the revenue bill, which will become an act immediately upon the issuance of a gazette notification and the completion of other norms.
The house also passed other related bills such as the one for cancellation of Telangana VROs and the Panchayat Raj Amendment Bill.
