The deadly coronavirus has claimed a doctor's life for the first time in the state.
The 70-year-old doctor, Gyaneswar, died of the virus while undergoing treatment at KIMS hospital in the city, on Sunday night.
The doctor was admitted to KIMS a week ago after he complained of fever. The doctors at the hospital conducted a coronavirus test on him and found that he was infected by the virus.
The doctor apparently died as he also had hypertension.
Dr Gyaneswar did his medicine degree from Kakatiya Medical College.
What is interesting is that he had contracted the virus without giving treatment to any coronavirus-infected patients. His clinic had also stayed shut ever since the lockdown was imposed in the state.
