Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will come to Hyderabad on a day-long visit on October 16. He will be addressing the Conference of Parties (CoP-11) to the Convention on Biodiversity (CBD) on its 9th day.
Japan's Environment minister Hiroyuki Nagahama will also be staying in the city from Monday to Wednesday for the same.
Meanwhile, the VIPs of this conferene are all set to plant 300 to 400 endangered plant species in the park that was proposed along with the museum.
The cost of the park and the museum is estimated to be around Rs. 100 crore, and will be borne by the Centre. It will come up in Gachibowli on 15 acres of land.
Plans for a seperate biodiversity park in Dulapally Reserve Forests are being made, and 10 acres of land have been earmarked for the same.
Meanwhile, CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday inspected the Pylon built in Gachibowli that was built to mark the international conference. The CoP-11 Pylon will be inaugurated by Manmohan Singh during his visit.
While the city has been gearing up for the PM's visit, some activists threatened to boycott the golf tournament organised for CoP-11 delegates on October 13 and 14, at the Hyderabad Golf Association Club, stating that the conference must revolve around nothing but conservation of biodiversity.
