Responding to the challenge posed by BRS working president K T Rama Rao who said that he was ready to undergo a polygraph (lie detector) test or a narcoanalysis test to prove his innocence in the alleged phone-tapping case, Government Whip Aadi Srinivas said the Congress welcomed KTR's challenge, and that the BRS leader should announce a venue and date to undergo the test.
"If KTR is really ready for a lie detector test, we will definitely make the necessary arrangements for it," he said.
Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Srinivas along with Congress leader K K Mahender Reddy alleged that K T Rama Rao had gone mad and that his madness had reached its peak.
"When Revanth Reddy as the TPCC president had challenged K T Rama Rao on the issue of drugs, KTR never dared to accept the challenge and just ran away without discussing the subject. Now he is shedding crocodile tears. The BRS leader has lost credibility among the people and doesn't have any right to ask the Chief Minister to accept any challenges," Srinivas said.
The Vemulawada MLA alleged that when the BRS was in power, K T Rama Rao also listened to the phone calls of many people including judges, and misused government agencies for wrong purposes.
He also refuted the allegations of KT Rama Rao who stated that the phone calls of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy were being tapped on the instructions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and asked what the necessity was to do such things in Telangana.
"K T Rama Rao also speaks nonsense like Revanth Reddy will join BJP after the Lok Sabha elections. He should stop his mud-slinging campaign against the Chief Minister," Srinivas said.
