The Congress today organised cycle and bullock cart rallies across Telangana to protest the soaring prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG in the state and the nation.
Many eminent leaders of the Congress took part in the rallies - TPCC head A Revanth Reddy, TPCC working president M Anjan Kumar Yadav, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, former PCC head Ponnala Laxmaiah, former minister Dr J Geeta Reddy, former Andhra Pradesh deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, and former MLCs Ramulu Naik and Feroz Khan were among those seen at the demonstrations.
During the rally at Medak, Damodar Raja Narasimha fell off a bullock cart while addressing a gathering during the demonstration. He sustained a minor injury on his leg and was immediately given first aid.
The leader fell when he lost his balance after the bull suddenly panicked in the midst of the crowd.
Meanwhile, tension gripped another part of the state when former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav and some other leaders were detained by the police for staging a protest near Hyderabad's Indira Park.
While the police claimed that the protestors did not have permission to demonstrate near the park, the leader condemned the "high-handedness" of the action.
In Nirmal, the rally was headed by TPCC head Revanth Reddy while senior party leader Bhatti Vikramarka led the protests held in Khammam.
