Congress senior leader and MLC Paladu Venkat Rao on Saturday raised serious objection over Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s move to open doors for Foreign Direct Investment in various sectors in the country including the retail business.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, he appealed to Dr Manmohan Singh to review his decision of allowing FDI in the country. Stating that opening the doors to foreign investors would lead to serious consequences in the country apart from causing huge damage to the retail sector, he said that the exports of indigenous industries would be affected seriously due to the move and spoil the Indian economy.
The Congress MLC accused the Prime Minister of following anti-Indira and anti-Nehru policies, who laid foundation stones for a sound economy by adopting five year plans. (INN)
