Congress MP Revanth Reddy demanded that the union government order an inquiry into the distribution of flood relief funds in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad | 16th November 2020
Alleging widespread irregularities by the TRS leaders in the distribution of flood relief funds in Hyderabad, Congress MP A Revanth Reddy today demanded that the union government order an inquiry into the issue.
He alleged that the TRS leaders had siphoned off all the flood relief money meant for the real victims, and that the leaders had looted Rs 500 crore in the name of the flood relief..
He also alleged that the flood relief amount was not being credited into the bank accounts of the victims. He reminded the people of the state that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had opened Jan Dhan accounts and credited Rs 1,500 per account into the same accounts during the lockdown. He asked the state government why it was not depositing the relief money into the bank accounts of the victims.
He also claimed that the TRS was distributing the flood relief directly to the victims eying the upcoming GHMC elections.
Targeting BJP leaders Bandi Sanjay and G Kishan Reddy, he asked the two leaders from whom they were seeking an inquiry when they belonged to the union government and to the ruling party. He asked the two BJP leaders to seek an inquiry into the allegations against the TRS leaders through the union government agencies if they were serious about the issue. He claimed that there was a hidden understanding between state minister K T Rama Rao and union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy, which is why the powerful BJP leaders of the state were not actually using the resources at their disposal to investigate the issue.
Pressing on that point further, he said that BJP leaders Kishan Reddy, K Laxman, Raja Singh and Chintala Ramachandra Reddy had met CM K Chandrashekar Reddy at Pragathi Bhavan after the issuance of the election notification for the Assembly elections in 2018, and that the BJP leaders had then told the media that they had met with KCR urging him to install the statue of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He asked the BJP leaders why they hadn't installed the statue so far.
