Making it clear that the Congress party would obstruct the construction of a new Secretariat at Bison Polo grounds in Secunderabad, a senior leader of the party Marri Shashidhar Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was contemplating constructing a new Secretariat only for the money that would come from the contractors.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday along with official spokesperson Krishank, Reddy said that the Chief Minister was mounting pressure on the Centre to take the land belonging to the Army for the construction of a new Secretariat. KCR was behaving like Tughlaq, he alleged, and asked what the need of a new Secretariat was as 60% of the present Secretariat was vacant.
He alleged that KCR had also mulled over using the Chest Hospital land for the construction of a new Secretariat in the past.
Describing the TRS as a bunch of looters, Krishnak demanded that the Chief Minister reverse his decision to construct a new Secretariat. He alleged that KCR was planning to shift the Secretariat from its existing location due to being obsessed with vaasthu and to make money via contractors, and not to help the state or its citizens. He demanded the Chief Minister explain clearly why he wanted to shift the existing Secretariat.
