The Congress on Friday expelled nine of its MLAs for indulging in "anti-party activities" by switching loyalties to the YSR Congress.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana alleged that the MLAs have joined the Jagan group for money, and that the Congress does not need "such leaders".
He said that Speaker Nadendla Manohar has been informed about the expulsion, and that he would look into the issue of their disqualification.
The expelled MLAs are Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy (Kakinada Rural), Buchepalli Sivaprasada Reddy (Darsi), G Ravi Kumar (Addanki), Alla Nani (Eluru), Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao (Bobbili), Perni Nani (Machilipatnam) and Muddala Rajesh (Chintalapudi). Most of these MLAs already resigned from the party and their posts to join the YSR Congress. (INN)
