Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao directed the officials of the various irrigation projects in the State to pursue and expedite all pending works such as the Palamur and Kaleshwaram projects, aggressively.
The minister said that the Jurala, Bheema, Nettempadu, Kalwakurty and Koilsagar projects should also be ready to channel waters to crops, and that any negligence or delay would be dealt with sternly.
"Land acquisition for the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project should be accelerated in coordination with the concerned MPs and MLAs. Speed up repairs of distributaries and field channels," he said.
He also directed the Joint Collector to publicize the irrigation projects in the district aggressively.
Rao also said that the bills for incomplete works would not be released, as per GO 146. The government was giving priority to only the ongoing projects in the district, he added.
