Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today directed the officials concerned to complete all the pending works on the Kalwakurthy project on a war-footing.
The project which falls under the Nagarkurnool Assembly segment is expected to be ready by the monsoons.
Holding a high level review meeting on packages 29 and 30 of the project at Jala Saudha, the minister warned that the working agency would be replaced if necessary to speed up the works.
He also instructed that irrigation waters be provided to all ayacuts in the segment.
Officials were also asked to resolve the 60-odd appeals made by the people of the area during MLA M Janardhan Reddy's tour of the segment during the Jala Vijaya Yatra.
The minister further directed that of the 4.25 lakh acres of arable land available in the area, 2 lakh acres be irrigated this year against the 1.25 lakh acres last year.
He also asked officials to have 350 lakes, including 120 lakes in the Nagarkurnool segment, filled this year against the 280 filled in 2016-17.
