The
Telangana Job Mela held at A V College today unfortunately did not turn out to be the success that it was planned to be. The mela was organized by the Telangana JAC in collaboration with the Telangana Pharma & Chemical Employee Association in a bid to get several students hailing from the Telangana region employed.
However, several companies had failed to turn up at the mela, leaving students disappointed, and giving Telangana activists some more reason for bitterness over the purported inattention to the region.
Prof. Kodandaram, the chief of the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC), condemned the negligence of companies, and said that they have deprived several students of opportunities by not turning up at the mela.
Sridhar, a member of the Pharma Association, alleged that several companies - and he even went on to name one of them, i.e., Aurobindo - have the practice of not even looking at resumes of applicants from the Telangana region.
