Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday requested the Centre to postpone by two months the launch of Aadhar-linked subsidy on cylinders in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and in Ranga Reddy district.
A favourable decision is expected from the Petroleum Ministry today evening or tomorrow, a press release from the Chief Minister's Office said.
It may be stated here that the Oil companies had fixed the last date as February 15. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to open another 200
Aadhar enrolling centres in addition to the 210 centres cuurently functioning in the twin cities and RR district.
The state government has requested the consumers not to worry over this issue as a favourable decision is expected from the Centre. It may be recalled here that Civil Supplies Minister D Sreedhar Babu wrote a letter to the Petroleum Ministry seeking an extension of time. Following directions from the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew also took up the issue with the Secretary, Petroleum Ministry. Since the issue has been taken up at the Ministerial and official levels, a favourable decision is expected. (INN)
