Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Monday, relieved 11 ministers from the posts of districts' in-charges.
The ministers who have been relieved include deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy, Finance minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy, Major Irrigation minister Sudarshan Reddy and minister for Rural Development D Manikyavara Prasad.
The other ministers who were relieved from the post are Satrucharla Vijaya Ramaraju, who is in-charge of the
international bio-diversity conference to be held in October; Galla Aruna Kumari and Vatti Vasanth Kumar, both of whom are busy with arrangements for the
World Telugu Conference to be held in Tirupati; and Danam Nagender, who is also heading the Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee.
The chief minister took this step following an appeal reportedly made by the ministers themselves to relieve them from the district in-charges' posts, owing to their being busy with their other responsibilities. According to sources in the CMO, the government is likely to issue a GO in this regard soon. (INN)
