Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi on Tuesday thanked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for according permission for film and TV program shootings in the state.
He made these remarks after meeting the CM at his camp office along with other prominent people of the film industry.
State minister Perni Nani, actor Nagarjuna, producers Dil Raju, Suresh Babu and C Kalyan, and directors Trivikram and S S Rajamouli were present during the meeting.
The participants discussed the development of film industry in the meeting.
Speaking to media persons later, Chiranjeevi said that the industry was facing problems due to the suspension of shootings due to the ongoing lockdown. He said that although the industry bigwigs had wanted to meet the CM for the last one year, the meeting could not materialise, and so they were all very happy to meet the CM finally.
He said that it was heartening that the CM had allowed the filmmakers to hold their shoots in the state. He added that they had also urged the CM to remove the norm of minimum fixed charges in the theatres, and also that they were expecting incentives from the state government.
Talking about the Nandi Awards function, he said that the celebrations would be held for the year 2019-20.
Pointing out that former CM Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had sanctioned land for the construction of a film studio at Vizag, he said that they would make efforts for the development of the film industry in the port city.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Perni Nani said that the government had allowed the film industry to hold shootings in the state after July 15.
