Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed officials to closely monitor the prices, supply and availability of essential commodities in the AP.
In a review meeting held at the state Secretariat on Wednesday, the CM directed Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi to activate the vigilance and price monitoring teams of officials to work under the already constituted "Group of Ministers" on the prices of essential commodities, vegetables, seeds and fertilisers.
He also discussed the issue of the setting up of a Monitoring Cell to constantly monitor the prices of essential commodities - a move that he had promised during the Rachabanda program at Eluru.

The Consumer Affairs wing of the Food and Civil Supplies Department will review, study and analyse the prices of essential commodities. This report will be submitted to the Group of Ministers, for necessary action.
