Former minister and senior Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy, on Monday, demanded that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu make his stand on the Telangana statehood issue clear.
Talking to media persons on Assembly premises, Jeevan Reddy cast doubts on the TDP leader's commitment towards Telangana. He stated that Naidu should have led the
dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi be staged by Telangana TDP Forum if he was in favour of a Telangana state.
Posing a question to Naidu whether he had issued a Whip to his party MPs to support the Telangana Bill in the Parliament, Jeevan Reddy said the Congress was ready to introduce the bill in Parliament.
Suspecting the credentials of the Opposition leader over the commitment to Telangana, the former minister said the TDP leader has a dubious history of having obstructed the formation of Telangana twice. He alleged that the Telugu Desam was following dual standards on Telangana and trying to sabotage its formation.
