Celebrate Telangana Liberation Day Officially: TDP

The Telangana TDP said that if the TRS government failed to celebrate the day officially, the TDP would do it by hoisting national flags at all mandal offices.

Telangana TDP official spokesperson Rajaram Yadav today demanded that the TRS government celebrate September 17 as "Telangana Liberation Day" officially.

The TDP leader said that if the TRS government failed to celebrate the day officially, the TDP would celebrate it by hoisting national flags at all mandal offices across the State. He added that the party was ready to face any consequences to make this happen.

He reminded people that KCR had demanded K Rosaiah, who was Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh in 2013, to celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day officially. KCR had even charged Rosaiah with insulting the people of Telangana by not celebrating the day.

Rajaram also reminded people of how even T Harish Rao, K Taraka Rama Rao and MP K Kavita had spoken about the Liberation Day repeatedly before the formation of Telangana.

But now, after coming to power, the TRS leaders had forgotten their demand, and were not even speaking about it, he alleged.
