Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief N Raghuveera Reddy said that only a CBI inquiry into the Revanth Reddy note-for-vote case would bring out the truth.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Reddy said that the mention of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's name 22 times in the note-for-vote chargesheet should be considered serious.
He asked Naidu to himself seek a CBI probe into the case to prove his sincerity. He said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, too, should ask the Centre for an inquiry into the case.
He said that he (Reddy) had no belief in the sincerity Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chief Ministers' sincerities in investigating the note-for-vote and phone-tapping cases respectively.
Reddy also alleged that the AP government had no control over the colleges in the state, and that this was proven with the continuing suicides of students in colleges. He asked the government why it was not initiating action against minister Narayana, the owner of the junior college where two students committed suicides in the Kadapa district yesterday.
He demanded that the government extend Rs 25 lakhs as ex-gratia to the families of each of the students who committed suicides. He also asked the government to set up special courts to clear the suicides cases within three months.
The government must hang those causing suicides of students, he demanded.
