Officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested former Araku MP Kothapalli Geetha in an alleged bank fraud of Rs 42.79 crore involving the Punjab National Bank.
She was taken to Bengaluru after her arrest.
According to the officials, Geetha had taken a loan in the name of Viseswara Infrastructure from Punjab National Bank. Upon a complaint lodged by the bank with the CBI, the agency enquired her husband Ramakoteswara Rao too.
It is learnt that Geetha, who got the loan in the name of the company, diverted the funds to another bank account.
