Gandhi Bhavan saw some tense moments when power was cut off during a media conference conducted by former Congress minister Santhosh Reddy on Saturday.
Power was cut off just after Santosh Reddy demanded the resignation of Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas for losing the Nizamabad Urban seat in the byelections.
Santosh Reddy then vented his anger at the caretakers at Gandhi Bhavan for deliberately cutting off his question-answer session saying that he was a former minister as well as a respected party leader.
Earlier, he said the party would bite the dust in the next general elections if it does not make its stand clear on the Telangana issue.
Talking to media persons at the CLP media point, Santosh Reddy said that the by-election results reflect the sentiment attached to formation of Telangana state, and that all political parties should respect the verdict.
"The voters' verdict should be an eye-opener for both the Congress and Telugu Desam Party, and they should respect it," he said.
The former minister demanded that the Congress and TDP members put their argument before the Srikrishna Commission in favour of a separate Telangana state.
The state would suffer if the two parties do not respect the sentiments of Telangana people as expressed in the by-election results, he said.
