Bonalu Dates In Hyderabad, Secunderabad Announced
The festival will begin on July 17 in the Sri Jagadamba Ammavari temple at Golconda. The Mahakali Jathara will be held in Secunderabad on July 24 and 25.
Arrangements for the annual Bonalu festival, scheduled to begin on July 17 in the twin cities, will be reviewed tomorrow (Thursday) morning in the Secretariat.
Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav today stated that Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and the higher officials concerned would participate in the review meeting.
Talasani said that the Bonalu festival would begin on July 17 in the Sri Jagadamba Ammavari temple at Golconda. The Mahakali Jathara would be held for two days in Secunderabad and other places on July 24 and 25. In Lal Darwaza in the Old City and at remaining places, the Bonalu would be held on July 31.
Talasani further stated that as the Bonalu Jathara in Secunderabad was declared a State festival, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would present "Pattu Vastrams" to the presiding deity Goddess Mahakali on July 24.
The minister also appealed to the Bonalu Utsav committees to approach the government for necessary arrangements.
