Demanding withdrawal of the externment orders against Swami Paripoornananda, workers of the BJP, the VHP and the Bajrang Dal today organized dharnas at various places in the city disrupting vehicular traffic.
A group of workers gathered at the busy Aramgarh crossroads and squatted on the road disrupting traffic, including on the Bangalore highway. The protestors raised slogans against the TRS government condemning the action against the seer. Traffic was paralyzed for about two hours on the road due to the squatting and its aftermath. Upon getting the information, the police swung into action and took the agitators into custody and shifted them to the Rajendranagar police station. Later, the police cleared the 2-km-long jammed traffic on all the four sides of the chowrasta.
The BJP, the VHP and the Bajrang Dal also organized a dharna in the busy Ameerpet area. The agitators were shifted to the Punjagutta police station by the police. VHP workers also staged a dharna at the Koti chowrasta. Police took them into custody and sent them to the Sultan Bazaar police station.
Earlier, the VHP leaders said that the externment was an affront to the Hindu community and demanded that the government withdraw the orders unconditionally.
