Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao today criticised that the BJP-led Centre for "failing" to keep its promises to the state.
Talking to the press, he accused Union Minister G Kishan Reddy of failing to get additional funds for Telangana and alleged that the BJP leaders in the state were "resorting to spreading hatred among the public".
"Though the Centre does not release adequate funds for the state, Telangana's BJP leaders are busy levelling false charges against our extant government's welfare programs. They do little more than spread hatred among the public. And though the Centre has often expressed its appreciation for Mission Bhagiratha, it is yet to sanction funds for such projects even though the Niti Ayog has pointed out that they should be given funds - the body had urged the Centre to release Rs 24,000 crore towards the Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya programs aimed at providing potable water to Telangana's rural pockets. But, the BJP leadership has only been invested in using divisive communal politics to roil up disturbances and not in developing our state. Kishan Reddy, who is now a Union Minister, should release a white paper disclosing what funds he has been able to secure for the state from the Centre," the minister thundered.
"It is especially puzzling to me that BJP leaders criticise other parties and governments when the Modi government itself has failed to control fuel price hikes and has been burdening the poor with skyrocketing prices of both fuel and basic amenities. Charges of petrol, diesel and cooking gas have risen like never before. The failures of the Modi regime have left the poor and the middle class devastated," Rao added.
