Senior Telangana BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatreya on Saturday demanded that the TRS government immediately respond to the increasing number of suicides by farmers in the State.
Bemoaning the farming community facing unprecedented drought this year, Dattatreya assured that the Narendra Modi government would come to the rescue of the distressed farmers and that the needed financial assistance would be sanctioned to the State government. Therefore, the State government should immediately identify and announce the list of the drought-affected mandals in the State immediately, he said.
Stating that Prime Minister Modi was well aware of the problems of the farmers, Dattatraya said the PM was also seriously planning bringing in an Integrated Farmers Insurance Scheme for the welfare of the farming community.
He also lamented that the working class in the country were being meted out injustice in the matter of bonus due to obstruction by the Opposition parties in Parliament.
He also demanded the official celebration of September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day.
