BJP Condemns CBI's Move Against Sakshi Group

The CBI's move would affect thousands of employees, and their family members, says the BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao. on Thursday, slammed the CBI for freezing the bank accounts of the Sakshi newspaper and TV channel, owned by Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, in connection with the disproportionate assets case.

Talking to media persons, Vidyasagar Rao said that the CBI's move would affect the livelihoods of thousands of employees, and their family members. He demanded that the CBI immediately de-freeze the accounts, considering their livelihood.

He said that the probing agency must find other alternative ways to investigate the alleged investments in Jagathi Publications Limited, without affecting the employees' livelihood.

The BJP leader appealed to the Centre and to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to intervene and direct the CBI to de-freeze Sakshi's bank accounts. (INN)
