BJP Stops Yashki, Demands Resignation

BJP activists obstructed Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud in Karimnagar district and demanded his resignation from the Lok Sabha to support the Telangana cause.
Hyderabad | 2nd April 2011
Bharatiya Janata Party activists on Friday obstructed the Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud at Korutla in Karimnagar district and demanded that he tender his resignation from the Lok Sabha and express solidarity for the Telangana state creation demand.

However, Yashki countered the BJP "attack" by telling the activists that he was willing to resign from his seat only after the party's state unit president G Kishen Reddy resigns from the state Assembly.

This led to heated arguments between the Congress leader and the activists. The BJP activists alleged that it was the Congress which was obstructing the formation of the Telangana state, and pointed out that despite the BJP making it clear that the party was ready to support a Telangana Bill if introduced in Parliament, the Congress was resorting to delaying tactics by linking it with the Assembly elections in the five states.

When the BJP activists prevented Yaskhi from proceeding ahead, the police stepped in and dispersed them. (INN)
