» BC Leader Accuses Chiranjeevi Of Cheating On Social Justice Plank
BCs To File Case Against Chiru
BC Leader Jaya Prasad announced that the BCs in the state are planning to file a case against Chiranjeevi for cheating them on the social justice plank.
National Union of Backward Classes state President Kasturi Jaya Prasad on Sunday declared that the backward classes (BCs) in the state are planning to file a case against Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) President K Chiranjeevi for cheating them on the 'social justice' plank.
Talking to mediapersons after participating in the round table conference of the backward classes, that was organized at the Parvana Hall in Hyderabad, Jaya Prasad said the conference has decided to file a petition against Chiranjeevi for illegally merging the party with the Congress and cheating the backward classes in the name of social justice.
He said that the leaders have contacted legal experts and will file a petition in the court soon.
Jaya Prasad alleged that Chiranjeevi had merged his party with the Congress to get political benefits and posts offered by the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and had harmed the aspirations of 70 lakh BC people. One of the main conditions of Chiranjeevi for merging his party with the Congress was that Kapus must be included in the BCs' list. This, Jaya Prasad said, would be a grave injustice to BCs since the Kapus are a rich community in Andhra Pradesh.
The BC leader accused the government of failing to release fee reimbursement arrears and playing games with the lives of students. He warned the government of serious consequences if it fails to release the fee dues.
Jaya Prasad also demanded action on bogus caste certificates. The benefits of government schemes are not reaching the genuine beneficiaries, while bogus certificate holders are making hay, he pointed out.
The BC leader also urged the government to allocate a fair share of funds for BCs in the Union and state budgets.
The conference was attended by BJP leader B Laxman, Chittaranjan Das, former PRP leader P Vinay Kumar and All India Forward Block state chief Muralidhar Deshpande.
