Bathukamma Sarees Distribution From October 2

As part of the Bathukamma festival celebrations, the state government will distribute sarees among the women in the state from October 2, according to reports.

One of the flagship programs of the TRS government will see sarees of 6.5 metres and in 30 designs and 20 colours distributed.

The government has spent about Rs 330 crore and bought 1.08 crore sarees for the initiative, and the program helps the weavers community and handloom workers in the state, who the orders are placed with.

The government has announced that women with Aadhaar cards will get the sarees.

The officials concerned have prepared for the mega drive of the distribution of the sarees among the women across the various districts and hamlets of the state. Mandal and village committees formed for this purpose will take up distribution drives in coordination with the officials.
