Auto Driver Held For Stealing From Bajaj Electronics
The Medchal police today arrested an auto driver for stealing from a Bajaj Electronics showroom, and recovered phones and laptops worth Rs 20 lakhs from him.

The Medchal police today traced an auto driver accused of stealing from a Bajaj Electronics showroom, and recovered 15 iPhones, 15 Xioami (MI) phones, four OnePlus phones, two Samsung smartphones, four Vivo phones, two HP laptops and a Lenovo laptop, worth Rs 20,08,787 in all, from him.
The driver was identified as Tarikoppula Venkatesh, 28, and resided at H No 2-56, Ravalkole, Medchal.
Police said that Venkatesh plied his auto in the Medchal limits. He reportedly incurred heavy debts due to his extravagant lifestyle. He used to go to the Bajaj Electronics showroom frequently wanting to purchase new mobile phones, but could afford to buy them.
On the midnight of October 10 he came in his auto to the showroom and parked it behind the showroom, entered the premises, and committed theft of 40 smartphones and three laptops, and escaped.
On October 14, he left in the early hours to sell the stolen gadgets in some market. However, while he was proceeding towards Hyderabad, the police, who were checking vehicles at Kistapur, apprehended him and recovered the gadgets.
