The All Indian Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen emerged as the second largest party in the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation elections whose results were declared on Thursday.
Of 113 total seats, the MIM fielded its candidates in 53 divisions, and won 26 seats.
The Shiv Sena-BJP combine swept the polls by winning 58 seats. With its 26 seats the MIM stood second, while the Congress was pushed to the third position with just 10 seats.
While the NCP won three seats, other candidates won 19 seats.
