Rowing Team Set For Asian Games
The chief coach of the national rowing team, Ismail Baig, said that sportsmen from the country would perform "exceptionally well" in the 16th Asian Games.

The chief coach of the national rowing team, Ismail Baig, on Thursday expressed confidence that sportsmen from the country would perform "exceptionally well" in the 16th Asian Games scheduled to be held in China from November 12 to 27.
Talking to media persons after the conclusion of a practice session for the rowing team at the Hussain Sagar, Ismail Baig said that the prospects of the Indian team getting medals in rowing were brighter this time around as the team members had undergone rigorous training session.
The coach revealed that 28 members (both men and women) have participated in the training session.
Sruthi Kamat from Chennai, one of the trainees, hopes to bag a gold medal in the Asian Games. Sruthi came to the city after completing her training in Chennai, for further training under the Ismail Baig.
Priya, a junior rowing gold medal winner, also expresses similar feelings, and hopes to win a medal in the Games.
Jaleel Krishnan from Kerala, who participated in the Asian games twice, stated that China, Japan and Germany would give a tough fight for the Indian team in the Games. He, too, is aiming for a gold.
The team leaves for China on November 7.
