Asha workers, who were on the warpath for the past 106 days, today reportedly withdrew their stir upon getting an assurance from Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy.
A team of Asha workers had called on the minister and mounted pressure on the issue. The minister assured them that he would look into their demands and take up the issue with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, but only if they called off their stir, they said, and announced the calling off their protest based on the promise.
The State government would also ask the Centre as the Asha workers came under the later's purview, the minister reportedly said.
The Asha workers have been protesting for a wage hike and other demands.
