The hearing on the 2005 case on MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, for allegedly having abused a collecter, has been posted to the 8th of February. Assaduddin, four other MIM MLAs implicated in the same case, Dalala, Afzal Khan, Mumtaz Khan and Pasha Qadri, and Asad's brother Akbaruddin had all appeared at Sangareddy court yesterday for a hearing.
Cases had been registered on the Owaisi brothers and the other MLAs under various sections by the then Medak District Collector Anil Kumar Singhal in 2005, for allegedly having abused him and inciting riots to interrupt his road widening project at Patancheru.
Meanwhile, a petition for bail has been filed today by Akbar's lawyers, and negotiation is on with regard to the same.
The MLA, whom the Sangareddy court had remanded to judicial custody for 14 days, might get bail today, but it doesn't seem like he will be out of the prison cell anytime soon, owing to cases being lodged against him all over the country on allegations of his having made anti-Hindu speeches.
He won a bail petition at Adilabad, but was sent back on remand until 7 February by the Nizamabad court.
Meanwhile, yet another case has been booked against him by the Medak court.
