Members of TPJAC, gathered at New MLA Quarters to commence on a 36-hour
"Samara Deeksha", have expressed strong displeasure over the arrests of several Telangana leaders that have occured since last night. "Thousands of MPs, MLAs and ordinary workers have been arrested, as if they are theives. The government has no right to stop us from demonstrating peacefully," said a member of TPJAC.
Said committee chairman M Kodandaram, "This is a barbaric and unfair government. If MLAs are arrested for demonstrating at MLA Quarters, what rights do they have as legislators? This is a clear overlooking of their priviliges."
Other committee members joined in the chorus of criticizing the state government's "behaviour". This regime will not last long, they said, adding that Telangana people, who are treated as "second class citizens", will bring it down.
