The TDP, on Monday, demanded the arrest of Kodandaram, calling his speeches provocative and threats to peace in society.
Senior party leader T Devender Goud said that the police must arrest Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Kodandaram for his speeches, which he said are "highly" provocative.
Taking objection to Kodandaram's
call to obstruct Chandrababu Naidu's Rythu Porubata scheduled to begin from December 27 in Karimnagar, he told reporters at NTR Trust Bhavan that such tactics were not reasonable.
Describing Kodandaram's call to obstruct the porubata as "irresponsible", he asked him to withdraw his comments against Naidu immediately.
"TDP president Chandrababu Naidu was visiting Karimnagar, where nearly 50 farmers committed suicide due to drought, to meet the affected farmers and apprise them of the avenues left to tackle the situation," he said.
He accused the TRS of assembling a huge number of anti-social elements in Karimnagar to place hurdles in Naidu's
padayatra.
"The TRS leadership is resorting to such cheap stunts to retain its prestige in Karimangar in the backdrop of Naidu's successful Rythu
padayatra in the other Telangana districts. It is a shame that Kodandaram, who was an academician, should speak such language in his political avatar," he said. (INN)
