Over 10,000 candidates who took the Group-1 preliminary examinations were declared qualified by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, which announced the results on Tuesday.
According to APPSC chairman Y Venkatrami Reddy, 10,500 candidates have been qualified in the preliminary examination conducted for 210 posts. This would mean that there are about 50 candidates hoping to bag each post.
They would now have to clear the main examination. The commission will announce the dates for conducting main examinations after taking into account various issues, including the political situation in the state.
One of the most important issues which would have a bearing on the scheduling of dates for the main examination would be the contentious Telangana and the Free Zone issue.
Venkatrami Reddy stated that the examination results have been uploaded on the APPSC website.
