AP Speaker Accepts TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao's Resignation

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Thammineni Seetharam today took a shocking decision, just before the Rajya Sabha elections, to accept the resignation of senior TDP leader and Visakhapatnam North MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao that the latter had given two years back.

The Speaker taking this decision just before the Rajya Sabha elections has become a matter of debate now in the State.

Rao had submitted his resignation two years back as a pressure tactic to stop the privatization of the Visakha Steel Plant.

This development has taken place in the background of the moves of the ruling YSRCP and the opposition TDP in view of the appraching Rajya Sabha elections.

It is also noteworthy that this decision was taken by the Speaker in the background of four YSRCP MLAs joining the TDP.
