Lok Sabha MPs from Andhra Pradesh are trying to get a bigger share of allocations for the state during the next Railway Budget.
Talking to reporters at the Secretariat in Hyderabad on Friday, Nagarkurnool Congress MP Manda Jagannatham said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would conduct a meeting with all the MPs of the state on 9 February to discuss and finalise the strategy to get a major share of allocation for AP in the Railway Budget.
He said that the MPs would also meet the General Manager of South Central Railway soon.
The MPs will submit a memorandum to Minister of State for Railways K H Muniappa, during his visit to AP on 15 February.
Manda Jagannatham denied that northern states benefit most from the Railway Budget. He said that all states try to influence the Railway Ministry for more allocations, and that this time, Andhra Pradesh's MPs would try to get more projects for the state. (INN)
