Elections to the local bodies in Andhra Pradesh have been postponed once again.
The State Election Commission announced that it had decided to postpone the elections for some more time keeping in view the ongoing lockdown and the orders of High Court of the state.
It also said that the election process would be suspended till the next order of the High Court.
The Commissioner of the State Election Commission Justice V Kanakaraj issued a notification to this effect.
The Commission also conveyed its decision to all the district Collectors and election officials.
For the uninitiated, the then Commissioner of the Commission N Ramesh Kumar had issued orders postponing the elections for a period of six weeks citing the outbreak of the coronavirus, on March 15. He paid dearly for it, but his stance appears vindicated.
