The Telangana Deputy CM brushed aside the demands of Andhra Pradesh ministers that Hyderabad be made a Union Territory if Section 8 was not implemented.
Hyderabad | 27th June 2015
Brushing aside the demands of Andhra Pradesh ministers that Hyderabad be made a Union Territory if Section 8 was not implemented, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said they had no rights to demand this.
AP CM Chandrababu Naidu's future would be sealed after receiving a notice in connection with the note-for-vote case, Srihari said, and alleged that Naidu and his coterie had raised the issue of Section 8 only to escape from the note-for-vote case.
Srihari said that the demand for Section 8 arose from Naidu's personal problems, and had nothing to do with the two states as such.
AP's ministers did not have knowledge of this section, Srihari said, adding that corruption and any other crimes did not come under the ambit of Section 8, and that Section 8 would not help Naidu. He alleged that the demand was a drama to divert attention from the note-for-vote case.
He demanded that AP make public any evidence it had on phone-tapping.
Srihari also said that Naidu was clearly involved in the note-for-vote case, and had no authority to lecture others. It was the bad fate of Andhra's people that they had Naidu as their CM and his colleagues as ministers, he added.
Srihari also released the results of SET. Of 1,02,388 candidates, 6,432 have qualified, including 5,340 from Telangana and 2,892 from Andhra Pradesh.
He said that the notifications for jobs would be released soon, and the appointment of VCs would also be made.(NSS)
