Within a few hours of its launch, the toll-free helpline number installed to assist farmers to get information and register their grievances on the crop loan waiver scheme went dead.
However, AP Agriculture Minister P Pulla Rao clarified that the helpline number, which was launched on an experimental basis on a single line, went dead due to too many calls.
He said that immediate measures were taken to start multiple toll-free help lines.
Later, the Mee Seva department issued a circular giving more numbers. Farmers can now call on the following toll-free numbers to get support on the crop loan waiver scheme or register their grievances:
