CM Reviews Seemandhra Employees' Strike
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy directs senior officials and police personnel to strictly monitor the law and order situation of the state during the period of the Vinayaka Chaturthi Navaratrotsav.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy directed the Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty, along with other senior officials and police personnel, to be alert with regards to the law and order in the state. He asked that extra vigil be kept, especially in the twin cities.
The directions have been given in view of the ongoing Vinayaka Chaturthi Navaratrotsav. The CM has asked officials to closely monitor the situation and be ready to act whenever necessary. The APNGOs strike and other agitations in the state that are being carried out in full swing are a reason for these measures being taken.
The CM reviewed issues related to law and order, strikes, rains, inflows into reservoirs, power generation, agricultural operations etc. with the Chief Secretary, CMO officials and senior police officials, at the Secretariat. He said, "Farmers should be given assistance wherever required. Agricultural operations are in full swing due to very good rains in most parts of the state. We should help them make the best of it."
He directed that all sensitive areas be thoroughly checked, and tight security be arranged at these places. Also, he added that there should be no compromise in the maintenance of law and order, and asked that surveillance be ensured round the clock, all over the city.
Kiran Kumar Reddy added that water levels in reservoirs must be maintained carefully and monitored closely in the process of hydel power production. He also said that fertilizers' supply and distribution should be checked by the vigilance cells. (INN)
