The Telugu Desam Party, on Friday, stated that the YSRC won the by-elections due to the sympathy wave created by Jaganmohan Reddy's arrest by the CBI.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu said that the by-election results would not have any impact on the Telugu Desam Party.
"The TDP has nothing to do with the by-election results, and they will not have any impact on it," he said.
The TDP's main aim is to win the 2014 general elections, and the party will devise a strategy in that direction soon, he said.
Responding to the victory of TRS candidate M Bhikshapathi from Parkal Assembly constituency, over YSR Congress candidate Konda Surekha, with a thin majority, Motkupalli Narsimhulu termed it a "facile victory" for the TRS. He warned of serious consequences if TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao fails to achieve statehood for the Telangana region within the next 3 months. (INN)
