Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Corporation Chairman I Y R Krishna Rao was shown the door for his "anti-government and anti-CM" postings in the social media.
Soon after retiring as Chief Secretary of AP, Rao was appointed as Chairman of the newly created Brahmin Corporation with cabinet minister status. However, there seems to have been a falling out, and TDP leaders and supporters brought to the notice of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Rao's recent postings on Facebook in which he was critical about the functioning of the TDP government as also the CM.
Rao it is alleged was critical about certain decisions taken by Naidu including granting permission for extra shows to cinema theatres to screen
Bahubali 2, granting tax exemption to
Gautamiputra Sathakarni and appointment of Anil Singhal as TTD Executive Officer. It was also alleged that he had even posted on Facebook a derogatory cartoon against a late leader made over two decades ago and attributed it to be the handiwork of Chandrababu Naidu.
Rao's postings on the social media also apparently included some in favour of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
All these were brought to the notice of Naidu, who was very annoyed that Rao did not even bother to give his explanation in the matter. This when Naidu had recently cautioned all his party leaders and cadre not to indulge in open criticism against each other or air their views publicly on any issue.
Thus when a nominated Chairman himself was indulging in criticizing the functioning of the government and the Chief Minister, the axe was bound to be used. The Chief Minister has sacked Krishna Rao, and efforts are on to select a suitable replacement.
